Tallgrass Recovery and Sober Living began with a simple belief. Real recovery happens when people are surrounded by love, accountability, and a community that walks the journey with them. Since 2006, Tallgrass has been a place where individuals and families discover a new way of life through a spiritually grounded 12 step solution.
We are not an institution. We are a family of people in recovery helping people seeking recovery. Every staff member has lived the experience of addiction and freedom. Every volunteer shares their strength, hope, and story to guide the next person. More than 60 percent of our alumni remain sober, and many return year after year to mentor, serve, and stay connected.
At Tallgrass, healing is personal. It is spiritual. It is rooted in community. Guests do not simply complete a program. They become part of something that lasts long after they leave our campus.

Every guest is guided individually through the steps by a member of the recovery community who understands the work because they have done it themselves.

We offer a home like setting where guests feel safe, accepted, and cared for from the moment they arrive. There is no judgment here, only love and accountability.

Tallgrass is powered by nearly four hundred volunteers who support our guests, speak at meetings, share their experience, and welcome newcomers into the recovery community.

Once someone comes to Tallgrass, they are always welcome. Alumni return for meals, meetings, events, and connection at no cost. Families return as well, often finding healing of their own.

Our sobriety rate is a multiple higher than the national average. Not because of a secret formula, but because our approach is built on spiritual change, consistent action, and authentic community.
Tallgrass supports individuals from every background. Construction workers, farmers, counselors, executives, teachers, stay at home parents, and people from all walks of life have found their path to recovery here. Many arrive after relapse or discouraging experiences at other programs. What they find at Tallgrass is often described as relief, safety, and the first real hope they have felt in years.
Families come to us searching for an answer. A place where their loved one will be understood and cared for. Tallgrass becomes that turning point for countless people.

For 20 years, Tallgrass has been providing Recovery that works.
Through the 12 Steps, spiritual awakening, and a community that refuses to give up, people who arrive consumed by fear, isolation, and hopelessness begin to experience freedom, connection, purpose, and a life of service. For two decades, Tallgrass has turned what begins as a desperate search for a way out into something extraordinary: a new freedom, a new happiness, and a life worth living.
Help us celebrate the people, partnerships, and stories that made 20 years of recovery possible.

Clinical research from Harvard Medical School shows that Twelve Step Facilitation (TSF) significantly improves long-term recovery outcomes. Compared to other leading therapies, individuals in TSF programs experienced 60–71% higher rates of sustained remission in the first year. Even more compelling, at a 3-year follow-up, abstinence rates were 50% higher among those engaged in Twelve Step–based care.
These results are driven by one key factor: active participation in recovery communities like AA, which has been shown to create lasting behavioral change, stronger support systems, and improved accountability.
At Tallgrass Recovery, our Twelve Step Program approach is designed to connect you with these proven pathways to long-term sobriety—so recovery is not just possible, but sustainable.
