Alumni Program and Lifetime Community Access

Alumni Program

A Place You Can Always Come Home To

Recovery does not end when a program is completed. At Tallgrass, it becomes a way of life supported by a community that remains with you for as long as you want it. Our Alumni Program and Lifetime Community Access ensure that every guest who walks through our doors becomes part of a family that never disappears.

Tallgrass is built on love, accountability, and spiritual connection. Once someone becomes a member of our community, they are welcome back for meals, meetings, fellowship, and service at any time. There is no expiration date. No limit. No requirement. You are always part of Tallgrass.

Many alumni return weekly. Many serve as volunteers or mentors. Many bring their families back to celebrate milestones. And many simply visit because they know they are loved and understood here. This sense of belonging is one of the keys to why our sobriety rates are so strong and why Tallgrass remains a trusted and transformative place for recovery.

What the Alumni Program Offers

Lifetime Access to Community Meals and Meetings

Alumni are welcome to return for meetings, meditation, meals, and fellowship at no cost. This creates long term stability and connection during every stage of recovery.

Continued Support From Staff and Volunteers

The relationships built at Tallgrass continue long after a guest completes the program. Alumni know they can reach out for guidance, encouragement, or connection whenever they need it.

Connection With Other Alumni

Alumni meet regularly through Tallgrass events, meetings, service projects, and spontaneous gatherings. These friendships strengthen recovery and build a sense of shared purpose.

Opportunities to Serve

Many alumni choose to return as volunteers or mentors. Service strengthens sobriety and creates powerful bonds within the community.

Events and Celebrations

Special events bring alumni together throughout the year. These gatherings are filled with laughter, gratitude, and the joy of shared recovery.

Why Lifetime Community Access Matters

Belonging

Addiction isolates. Recovery requires connection. Knowing you have a place where you are always welcome can change everything.

Consistency

Long term sobriety depends on daily practices and supportive relationships. Tallgrass provides both.

Accountability

When alumni stay connected, they stay grounded. They remain engaged in meetings, step work, and service.

Hope

Seeing others maintain long term sobriety offers powerful encouragement, especially during difficult moments.

Strengthened Recovery

Lifetime access keeps people tied to a spiritual community that continues to challenge, uplift, and support them.

A Community That Grows Stronger With Every Story

Every alumnus who returns adds to the strength of Tallgrass. Their stories, struggles, milestones, and victories create a community that continues to grow in love, depth, and spiritual power.

Many say Tallgrass is the first place they truly felt at home. The Alumni Program ensures that feeling is something they can return to as often as they need.

Proven: 20 Years of Hope

For 20 years, Tallgrass has been providing Recovery that works.

Through the 12 Steps, spiritual awakening, and a community that refuses to give up, people who arrive consumed by fear, isolation, and hopelessness begin to experience freedom, connection, purpose, and a life of service. For two decades, Tallgrass has turned what begins as a desperate search for a way out into something extraordinary: a new freedom, a new happiness, and a life worth living.

Help us celebrate the people, partnerships, and stories that made 20 years of recovery possible.

When: Nov 10th, 2026, 05:30 pm – 08:00 pm (CDT)

Where: The Country Club of Sioux Falls 3400 W 22nd St Sioux Falls, SD

*If you are unable to attend the event, there are tables available to purchase to gift to the recovery community.*

*All proceeds support individuals in need who would not otherwise be able to enter the Tallgrass 30-day residential program. Part of the reason our program succeeds is that Tallgrass believes in “skin in the game.” Your gift supports our mission and keeps Tallgrass affordable.*

Proven Results Backed by Research

Clinical research from Harvard Medical School shows that Twelve Step Facilitation (TSF) significantly improves long-term recovery outcomes. Compared to other leading therapies, individuals in TSF programs experienced 60–71% higher rates of sustained remission in the first year. Even more compelling, at a 3-year follow-up, abstinence rates were 50% higher among those engaged in Twelve Step–based care.

These results are driven by one key factor: active participation in recovery communities like AA, which has been shown to create lasting behavioral change, stronger support systems, and improved accountability.

At Tallgrass Recovery, our Twelve Step Program approach is designed to connect you with these proven pathways to long-term sobriety—so recovery is not just possible, but sustainable.
