At Tallgrass, our programs are built on one guiding belief. Recovery becomes possible when individuals are surrounded by love, honesty, spiritual growth, and a community that understands the journey. Each of our programs reflects the same core purpose. Help people discover a new way of life through a spiritually based 12 step solution that has saved millions.
Our approach is simple and powerful. Every guest is immersed in the 12 steps, guided one on one by a mentor who is living in recovery, supported by nearly four hundred volunteers, and welcomed into a community that stays with them long after they leave. Whether someone is taking their first step or returning to rebuild their foundation, Tallgrass offers a place where real healing begins.
Every program at Tallgrass is built around the spiritual principles and actions of the 12 steps. Guests are guided individually through the work by someone who has lived it.
More than 80 percent of our support comes from volunteers in recovery. Guests feel surrounded by people who understand them and believe in them.
Our programs provide consistency, accountability, and a daily rhythm that helps guests begin practicing new patterns while shedding old ones.
Tallgrass is staffed entirely by people in recovery. They offer guidance, compassion, honesty, and support drawn from their own journeys.
Graduates become part of an ongoing community of meetings, meals, mentorship, and fellowship that continues long after the program ends.
Each program plays a unique role in helping individuals embrace a sober, purposeful life.
Residential 12 Step Immersion Program
A 30 night structured, spiritually centered experience that forms the foundation for long term sobriety.
A powerful introduction to the steps, personal mentorship, daily meetings, and the spiritual tools needed to begin a new life.
Safe, structured housing for individuals who want continued accountability, fellowship, and support while rebuilding their lives.
Nearly four hundred volunteers support guests by sharing their stories, guiding step work, and creating a sense of belonging.
Once someone becomes part of Tallgrass, they are welcome back for meals, meetings, events, and connection for life.
Daily meetings, meditation, and spiritual practice help guests stay grounded, connected, and supported.
Addiction affects everyone. Tallgrass provides guidance, understanding, and support to help families heal, rebuild trust, and stay connected throughout the journey.
Each guest receives one on one guidance from a volunteer mentor who is actively living a 12 step life and understands the path to freedom.
Families trust Tallgrass because they want more than another attempt at sobriety. They want something that works. They want a place where their loved one feels safe. They want a path that has proven itself again and again.
Tallgrass feels different because it is different. Here, people are welcomed as family. Here, the spiritual solution is practiced, not talked about. Here, community is real, and recovery is something guests see modeled around them every day.
This is where transformation begins.

For 20 years, Tallgrass has been providing Recovery that works.
Through the 12 Steps, spiritual awakening, and a community that refuses to give up, people who arrive consumed by fear, isolation, and hopelessness begin to experience freedom, connection, purpose, and a life of service. For two decades, Tallgrass has turned what begins as a desperate search for a way out into something extraordinary: a new freedom, a new happiness, and a life worth living.
Help us celebrate the people, partnerships, and stories that made 20 years of recovery possible.

Clinical research from Harvard Medical School shows that Twelve Step Facilitation (TSF) significantly improves long-term recovery outcomes. Compared to other leading therapies, individuals in TSF programs experienced 60–71% higher rates of sustained remission in the first year. Even more compelling, at a 3-year follow-up, abstinence rates were 50% higher among those engaged in Twelve Step–based care.
These results are driven by one key factor: active participation in recovery communities like AA, which has been shown to create lasting behavioral change, stronger support systems, and improved accountability.
At Tallgrass Recovery, our Twelve Step Program approach is designed to connect you with these proven pathways to long-term sobriety—so recovery is not just possible, but sustainable.
